That shirt I'm wearing is what we used to make the socks! XD
Long overdue explanation for the few who truly care (ahdemetemoshet I don't mean it like that XD): We weren't able to go to Toycon because 1) The material making up the armor proved to be a pain when it came to attaching the ropes, 2) the wig failed me. Yes, more hatred for the seller XD
So, between staying at home to contemplate on how to fix this mess or looking half-assed at a con, we decided not to go. No big deal, I'm more jealous of the toys sold during the con (PEASHOOTER agaskjdhaskdjhadkas!!!) than the cosplay event. Besides, we wrapped things up at around 3:30pm, a little too late to see anything interesting.
Finally convincing my boyfriend to give rubber sheets a try, we redid the armors, and I couldn't be happier. It looks more believable and "clean". Still, gotta hand it to mi amour, he put a lot of effort in the first armors, and they did look good... until we had to puncture and add in the rope... I honestly don't have the heart to throw them away.
We shared the task of cutting and assembling the sheets, and painting them. He took charge of drilling the rubber sheets because I have this mental image where I would clumsily create a pseudo-stigmata on my hand XD
The acrylic paint is giving us a headache as it keeps sticking on the damn paper (that, and the smell made us high). We should have wet paint (or whatever it's called). Oh well, next time :D
I'll be joining this weekend's video game face off (Keith said he doesn't want to go on stage, says he's not yet ready). This time, we'll really be there :D

 (I took a picture of the stuff we bought, but left the camera at home, so please use your IMAAAAAAAGINATION!) Went to Divisoria with boyfriend last Saturday and bought the following: Momohime: - 10 yards of Peach (actually Pomelo) Swiss Cotton = 65Php per yard - 1 yard of Green Chinese Silk with yellow/gold floral design for Obi = 200Php - 1 yard of Black Velvet for the neck part = 120php - Bridal Cord = 130php (bought the whole pack) Kisuke: None. Boyfriend thinks the colors are simple enough to have Manang Noli buy them. We did buy him skulls last Halloween in preparation for the cosplay (6 skulls, 100php each). ===== I am lucky my bf and my officemate have started on a shirt-printing business, because now he's got the machine to just have the white flowers on the sleeves printed :D :D :D He took about a yard from the Swiss Cotton fabric to test stuff. As for the armor's, we've found some nifty tutorials online and will be testing the effectiveness of using KFC buckets as armor plates. Chicken, anyone? XD Will be buying and dying bandages yellow soon, though it ain't immediate. Also found Tabi socks and Waraji for sale on ebay. I already have the money, just have to deposit them on my account to buy them. 
 True, these are somewhat unnecessary since I can just use black socks or what, but... THIS IS PASSION, MAN! If I can, why shouldn't I just perfect it? XD Bf's got a few nifty ideas for the floating spirits as well. Currently searching for knee-high violet socks of this shade: 
Damn it, never thought it'd be so hard to find X( If you find any, do tell me, I'll be eternally grateful.
===== That's it for now. I can't really put a value on how much we've accomplished so I'll just keep on blogging our progress. As for the debut... I really don't target cons anymore, because I find that pointless, hectic and, well, I am doing this for my amusement, but I suppose we'll be donning these on PCC or Ozinefest. If both of our costumes are not perfect yet by then, we'll just go on the next con. No rush makes it more fun. I am extremely excited to cosplay with Keith though (and such cool characters too. This is gonna be awesome!). PS: Got a hedgehog. Named him Talim. Yey :D |

To all those who texted, pmed, plurked, sang, and personally greeted me a happy birthday, thank you! *^^*
Took a leave from the office to celebrate the evening with my family and boyfriend *^^* Got 2 games from my dad, his gf, sis, and Keith: Siren (creepy), and Tekken 6 (was meaning to buy it soon). I also have to thank Anino for the free ice cream the day before :D
*sigh* December is turning out to be the most awesome month ever :D

Some bitch stole most - if not all - of Naharu's pictures from my account! XD I actually don't mind, since that's the reason I put watermarks on the images. It just amazes me that she took so many and posted it on her own account.
And this is after she views my profile page (talino din eh). It's not a collection of "dolls" either, just all doll pics from my account. I mean, why not ASK the owner about the dolls instead?
Wasn't able to put watermarks on some of them though. I'm sorry Amanda ;_; I didn't think anyone would take the pictures like that.

I planned to do Ashlotte, but... so little time *wails* I haven't saved up yet! I've been spoiling Naharu (which I'm not regretful off but still) and I'm still perfecting my Amy costume. Actually, I just need the corset and have the pink line on the torso area fixed. THEN I'll be satisfied.
And so who do I cosplay? I certainly can't do Ashlotte yet, and I am not going to do Amy again on the same convention... hmmm...

In doll news, I restrung my boy yesterday. That was a labor of love, blood and sweat. Literally. I have ouchies on my fingers T__T
But it's all worth it! Naharu can now look around AND stand! ^------^

Horray for doll family! It's confirmed, we'll be able to buy a MiniFee Shu shu next week! Aya's coming home from boarding school, yey! :D

I woke up from a dream about work.
BLAAAAARGH!!!
Just when me and my PS3 are bonding. Sniff. T___T
DMC4 is awesome, though IMO 1 and 3 are the best. SC4 is actually kinda fun. Got pass the boobs and I actually enjoy it. Its technicality lies between Tekken and VF. It's easier to create combos in Tekken and VF, but it's not as hard and "for-gamers-only" as VF. It's actually more "fighter maker" than SC4. Maybe not a good thing, but makes the game fresh and fun. Attaining skills and getting the right equipment also gives it a little more depth.
Ah the joys of vacation slowly withering... Ah, we need more vacations XD

SUPER SHITIFIED Local remake of Twilight.
FUCKING GREAT MAN, JUST FUCKING GREAT. As if those senseless Manila film Festival Entries (which are also shitified stuff ripped off from foreign films) aren't bad enough, they add this to their crap load of plagiarised bullshit. Oh yeah, we have a fucking license for it, but like it's gonna be good (remember Zaido?). Believe me, our self-proclaimed creative minds of the film and tv industry can make a 3 hour film into a 3 month long disaster by 1) adding ass-long close-ups of crying/kissing/I'm-just-a-fucking-attention-whore-so-look-at-me celebrities, 2) unfolding the story as slow as possible, and 3) adding lots of commercials. And I means LOTS of it. Heck, now they even make the commercials a PART of the script. The characters ACTUALLY say the lines of the commercial, and they even put the commercial in the scenes. i.e. Character is watching TV and they show the commercial to its fullest length (try watching I love Betty [rip off of Ugly Betty], which should be changed to CLEAR ANTI DANRUFF SHAMPOO THE SERIES).
God damn brain drain! We're better than this! Where is our creativity?! We are an extremely talented race, but because we don't utilize and reward the smart ones, they end up leaving the country. And now we are left with assenon morons who had the audacity to stereotype "goths" by making a kid wear spikey hair, a face planted on a bag of flour, joker-type lipstick, black tee shirt and buddha beads (watch Desperadas 2 trailer). We are left with people who have lower standards and don't mind getting ripped off when they deserve better. We are left with an entertainment industry that have no shame in recycling things that are not in Tagalog, using licenses as an excuse to say it has a "Filipino touch".
Fuck you, GMA. Fuck you, ABS-CBN. We're not all stupid. Get your brains out off your ass, you bunch of faggots.
BTW, just being gay doesn't make you cool or different.
No, I'm not a Twilight fan (Lestat Forever!), but this is something that will unite both haters and lovers of the series.
